Seasons & Cycles (2022)
Medium: Digital Illustration (Illustrator)
This illustration was originally made as coursework for Production Design 2 at Cedarville University wherein the design was translated via ink and letterpress to several coasters. In this mockup, the design is found on a sticker, showing variety in application.
The three elements of the design are the ouroboros—a symbol of a snake eating its own tail that tends to signify the cycle of life and death; a tree that is half-dead and half-alive, or half in winter and half in bloom; and finally, text referencing the first portion of Ecclesiastes 3:1, directing the viewer to remember or seek what follows in the remainder of the third chapter of Ecclesiastes.
